OF ZAKYNTHOS
In the historic Saint Marcus square,
the museum is dedicated to the
national poet of Greece and other
distinguished people of Zakynthos.
Numerous heirlooms of the history
and culture of the island are
exhibited and there’s the option
of browsing manuscripts with the
help of technology. The building
also houses the only Mausoleum
in Greece, with the bones of the
two national poets, Dionysios
Solomos and Andreas Kalvos and
his wife. Στην ιστορική Πλατεία
Αγίου Μάρκου, το µουσείο είναι
αφιερωµένο στον εθνικό ποιητή της
Ελλάδας και σε άλλους επιφανείς
ζακυνθινούς. Στους χώρους του
εκτίθενται πολυάριθµα κειµήλια
της ιστορίας και του πολιτισµού
του νησιού, ενώ προσφέρεται
η δυνατότητα να ξεφυλλίσετε
χειρόγραφα µε τη βοήθεια της
τεχνολογίας. Το κτίριο επίσης
στεγάζει το µοναδικό Μαυσωλείο
στην Ελλάδα, µε τα οστά των
δύο εθνικών ποιητών Διονυσίου
Σολωµού και Ανδρέα Κάλβου
και της συζύγου του δεύτερου.

THE DURRELL SPOT
You can take a good taste of the unparalleled
legacy the Durrell family left in Corfu in the
two gift shops of the White House. Beside the
many books written by or about Lawrence and
Gerald Durrell, the shops offer a great variety of
